A new partnership will see Bitcoin and the largest cryptocurrency exchange in Turkey aired to millions of citizens for more than two years, during the national football team games. This follows a Bitcoin sponsorship between the Turkish Football Federation and BTCTurk exchange on Wednesday. The Bitcoin sponsorship stems from an earlier deal existing between the two parties.
Turkish National Football Team Will Earn BTC via its Bitcoin Sponsorship
A video shared by BTCTurk, a Turkish digital currency exchange, confirmed the signing ceremony of the Team’s Bitcoin sponsorship. The exchange reportedly has more than 580,000 customers. Following the partnership, it has officially become the main sponsor of the country’s national football team. This will cover both the male and female teams.
Due to the Bitcoin sponsorship, the national team will receive some of the partnership reimbursement paid in the cryptocurrency. This crypto payments or the sponsorship will last until two and a half years. So, the Turkey national football team might be promoting the cryptocurrency during the European National Leagues, which comes up in 2021.
Bitcoin Adoption in Turkey
While commenting on the development today, the CEO of BTCTurk exchange, Özgür Güneri, said:
“As BtcTurk, we continue to move forward on our path with the mission of being a pioneer brand in the world. We take great pride in being one of the “Main” supporters of our National Teams at the UEFA European Championship, which will be held in 2021 — the first time the games will be held in an odd-numbered year.”
Noteworthily, the partnership today comes as an improvement on the already-existing deal the exchange had with Turkey’s national football league side, Yeni Malatyaspor.
